How to register Card-on-File

Registering a new Card-on-File

Depending on which Booksure package and payment method your establishment signed up for, you may from time to time be required to register card-on-file details on your Booksure profile.

Log in to your Booksure Dashboard and click on Account in the top right corner.

Click on the Card-on-File tab.

Click on the green Register new card button at the bottom of the screen.

Enter the last 4 digits of the card you would like to Register and click on the Continue with registration button.

A new browser window will open and you will be redirected to the Payfast page.  Payfast is a South African company that offers secure credit card billing.  Please enter your email address in the field provided.

You will then be prompted to enter your credit card details.  At this stage, R5 will be debited to your credit card.  This debit is a precautionary measure to ensure that your details have been entered correctly and that your card is enabled for online billing.   As soon as the R5 is debited, it will be credited back to your account.

If your credit card is enabled for 3D secure, you will be directed to the 3D secure screen (Verified by visa, Mastercode SecureCode, Amex Safekey).  Upon successful 3D secure authentication, you will receive the confirmation screen below.  You will also receive an email from Payfast indicating a successful registration of your card.

** Please be aware that your credit card information will be encrypted and stored in a vault that has been certified as secure by the Payment Card Industry Council.

Troubleshooting

When registering your card on file with Payfast, you could receive 1 of the following:

1.  Error message:  "We don't currently support this type of credit card."
This means that there is an error in the card number.  Double check the card number entered.

2.  You are asked for a password after entering an Email Address.

This means that the email address entered has an associated Payfast account.  You are required to enter your
password in order to log into your existing Payfast account.
